Yes, in most cases we can, unless you have a specific registration company that you would like to deal with, or if you are registering a domain name that does not end in .com, .net or .org or if the name you would like to use is country specific such as .uk, or .de, etc. Domain names ending in .edu must be registered directly through Network Solutions and must be a 4 year, degree-granting college or university.
Yes, just be sure to specify that you are requesting a transfer and NOT a new domain. You should keep your hosting service with your current provider active while waiting for the transfer process to be completed. We will provide you with an IP address so you can upload the site on our server. All email and web pages will still be accessed from your current site. After the completion of the transfer there is an approximate 72 hour propagation period where visitors could go to either site. At the end of the 72 hours you should contact your previous host to have them delete the old domain account from their records and update their DNS records. If you use this same provider for your Internet access you may not be able to access your domain site until they update their DNS. Please Note: When we file a modification with Network Solutions, one of the current listed contacts must ok the change. They will will send an email that you must ok to have the modification of your domain name records completed. If the contact email on your domain has changed from the time you originally registered it, you will need to fax an authorization to complete the process using a tracking number we will provide upon request. In some cases, for both Network Solutions and other Registration Services, you may have been provided with a login and password to access your domain name registration information or may need to update your name records by other means. In these cases you will be provided with our name server information and technical contact information.
Yes we can house any foreign extensions. We do not do the registration of these but can provide the nameservers so you can register them yourself. A copy of the completed registration should then be forwarded to IDesigns by email or postal mail.
Once your new domain name has been registered it should be responding to our servers within 24 hours. All Internet providers must update their records (DNS tables) to reflect the new site's location. Since not all dial-in providers update DNS tables on a daily basis this process could take longer than 3 days.
